Rishi Sunak has insisted Britain is taking steps to protect itself from an “increasingly assertive” China after it was accused of being behind a “malign” cyberattack on the UK.
As the government prepares to sanction those believed to be involved in the state-backed interference, the prime minister described Beijing as “the greatest state-based threat to our economic security”, insisting the UK has “very strong” capabilities to resist such cyberattacks.
