{KXLG – Miller, S.D.} The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs will honor U.S. Army Sergeant Dennis D. Lawver with a bridge dedication ceremony on Saturday, August 17th. The bridge on SD Highway 45 over Crow Creek, approximately 18 miles south of Miller, will be officially named the SGT Dennis D. Lawver Bridge.
Lawver, a South Dakota native, was killed in action in Vietnam in May 1968. The bridge dedication is part of an ongoing initiative to honor the state’s fallen heroes.
